There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Columbine's junior Adam Harrington, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Columbine got a 53 - 27 win over Arvada West last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Adam Harrington. Harrington earned six touchdowns and 277 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Harrington as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Cherry Creek and Grandview, 3rd and 5th in the power rankings, respectively. Cherry Creek fought the good fight but suffered a stinging 28 - 21 defeat in overtime to Grandview. The quarterback felt the loss most of all -- literally. After four sacks, he is probably hoping to get a little more protection in the future.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Discovery Canyon (24th in the power rankings) and Palmer Ridge (16th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. The two teams picked up some nice yardage in their most recent games (407 for Palmer Ridge and 414 for Discovery Canyon), so expect some excitement on the offensive end of the ball.
