After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Piedra Vista, The Highland Hornets were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 43-24 victory over Miyamura. For Highland, this counts as revenge for the 50-0 loss Miyamura walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
It was another big night for Amiri Mumba, who rushed for 303 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Mumba was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.
Highland's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Del Norte and 2-8 Manzano (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 25% over those games). As for Miyamura, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Miyamura also has no future games currently scheduled.
