It was a good run, but The Sonora Broncos unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Forsan by a score of 24-22. Sonora was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Forsan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Sonora still got an impressive performance from Edgar Deluna, who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Deluna has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last ten times he's played.
Forsan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Huston Stockton led the charge by rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Bowlin also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Forsan, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Sonora will take on Anson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Forsan, they will head out on the road to face off against Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stamford will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
