Basketball Recap: Tad Tjaden Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Madison

The third road game was the charm for Dell Rapids, as they earned their first road win of the season. They managed a 43-37 victory over the Madison Bulldogs on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Quarriers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dell Rapids to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tad Tjaden, who went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. Tjaden has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Karson Paye, who posted ten points along with five assists and five boards.

Dell Rapids is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Madison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Dell Rapids will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton at 7:45 p.m. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Madison, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 97-43 loss against Sioux Falls Christian on the 24th.
