Manchester and Peebles are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Greyhounds are taking a road trip to take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Manchester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Manchester's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Whiteoak 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Greyhounds have posted since April 9th.

Luke Applegate made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Applegate wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Traevyn Hilderbrand, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Peebles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to North Adams.
Brandon Rayburn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Garrett Shiveley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Manchester pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Peebles, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Manchester has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peebles struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Manchester came out on top in a nail-biter against Peebles in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
