The Alexander Trojans lost against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Alexander took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Irish. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alexander in their matchups with the Fighting Irish: they've now lost three in a row.
Notre Dame got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sofia Falleti out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nina Bartz, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Alexander's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Notre Dame, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Alexander will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Akron is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
