The Economedes Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 47-20 loss at the hands of Mission. Economedes was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.
Nirel Salinas was Economedes' leading scorer, having posted seven points. Salinas held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Economedes has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Mission, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Economedes will take on La Joya at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mission, they will be playing at home against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pharr-San Juan-Alamo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
