The Danville Vikings will head out on the road to  square off against  the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Danville will be strutting in after a  victory while Homewood-Flossmoor will be coming in after a  defeat.

They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-5  win over Hoopeston  on Thursday. The  victory was just what Danville needed coming off of  a  17-6 loss in their prior  game.
  Kendall Rannebarger spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Ka'Leah Bellik was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.  Jaidyn Hardesty was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Homewood-Flossmoor had to start their season on the road  on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Plainfield Central by a score of  9-8.
 Danville's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they dropped their record down to 0-1 with that  defeat, which was their fourth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
