Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wendell). They strolled past the Aberdeen Tigers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 67-48. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jordon Swainston was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Jarrett Borges was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points and six boards.
Wendell's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-4. As for Aberdeen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Wendell will head out to challenge The Ambrose School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ambrose School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Wendell likes a good challenge. As for Aberdeen, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Aberdeen Tigers take on the Soda Springs Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
