Baseball Recap: White Station's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

White Station dropped their record down to 16-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 11-5 to the First Assembly Christian Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

White Station saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Walter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Hayes Bennett was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for First Assembly Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On First Assembly Christian's side, the team relied heavily on Christian Forrest, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The Crusaders are undefeated when Forrest posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-14-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Henry Jones, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, White Station will welcome Memphis University School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for First Assembly Christian, they will head out to take on Millington Central at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
