Softball Recap: Warhill Wins Going Away Against Lafayette

Warhill won the last time they faced Lafayette and things went their way on Friday too. Warhill was the clear victor by an 18-4 margin over Lafayette. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Ella White and Kaci Wagner made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, White pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Wagner pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, White scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Wagner scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Warhill let Skyler Wilson and Keamani Fujimoto run wild. Wilson scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Fujimoto scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Auerbach - GMU, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Warhill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lafayette only posted an OBP of .440.

Warhill's record now sits at 2-0. As for Lafayette, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Warhill will welcome Rappahannock at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lafayette, they will head out to square off against New Kent at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
