Baseball Recap: Iola Drops Highest Score of Season Against Richards

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Iola). They blew past the Richards Panthers 22-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Weston Roubion was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colin Fowler, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Iola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .681. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was the third in a row for Iola, bringing their record up to 16-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Richards, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.
