The Cape Henlopen Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Decatur. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Brycen Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds for Decatur. Coleman has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Davin Chandler, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Cape Henlopen dropped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Decatur, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
Cape Henlopen will head out on the road to square off against the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Milford is ranked 34th, while the Vikings are ranked 21st). As for Decatur, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Clippers at 1:30 p.m. Bennett knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully the Seahawks like a good challenge.
