On Sunday, the Scotlandville Hornets faced Madison Prep Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Scotlandville fell 54-44 to the. Scotlandville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Scotlandville still got an impressive performance from Jamal Drewery, who scored 26 points. Drewery continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. LaMarkus Williams was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Scotlandville's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Madison Prep Academy, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
Scotlandville will head out on the road to take on the Pelicans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Allen has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. As for Madison Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodlawn-B.R. will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the are ranked first).
