Girard took a 20-run defeat the last time they faced off against Conneaut, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yellowjackets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans on Friday, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Yellowjackets have posted since March 25th.

Girard's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for Conneaut, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Girard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-5 loss against General McLane on the 10th. As for Conneaut, they have also already played their next game, a 21-4 defeat against Edgewood on the 9th.
