Dumont is 0-9 against Westwood since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dumont Huskies will be staying on the road to face off against the Westwood Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Dumont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Westwood is ranked 30th).
Last Friday, Dumont ended up a good deal behind Mahwah and lost 27-13.
Meanwhile, Westwood put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Ridgefield Park onto the board and left with a 35-0 win. Fans of Westwood have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Westwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Steve Klein, who rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Aiden Dugan and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Westwood's win.
Dumont's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Westwood, their win was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Dumont was taken down by Westwood 49-7 in their previous matchup back in September. Can Dumont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
