Sadly, the Eek Cougars are still looking for their first win of the season after seven matchups. Their rough 59-39 defeat to Kwigillingok on Friday might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Eek of the 55-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Jasmine Andrew was her usual excellent self, scoring 36 points for Kwigillingok. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrew has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nikkita Anaver, who scored 11 points.
Eek dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kwigillingok, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Kongiganak the next time they take the court. Kwigillingok will host Kongiganak at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while Eek will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
