Crown Point has gone a perfect 10-0 against La Porte recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Slicers at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Crown Point prevailed. They never let Michigan City get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Tuesday.
Crown Point got a great performance from Lexi Smith as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Smith a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Crown Point let Sam Dunlap and Lulu Johnston run wild. Dunlap got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Johnston went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Johnston a new career-high. Amaria Yarbrough was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Crown Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan City only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, La Porte got the win against Portage on Tuesday by a conclusive 18-0. The Slicers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Madi Squire, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Jersey Worthington, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Crown Point's record is now 10-2. As for La Porte, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Crown Point has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like La Porte struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crown Point came out on top in a nail-biter against La Porte when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Slicers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
