Basketball Game Preview: Center Roughriders vs. Pollok Central Bulldogs

Center has gone 3-0 against Pollok Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Center Roughriders will take on the Pollok Central Bulldogs at 11:20 a.m. Center is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Center earned a 54-45 win over Central Heights.

Tim Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis (TJ) Belin Jr, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pollok Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Chireno by a score of 49-41 on Tuesday.

Pollok Central had a senior duo take command as Wyatt Graham went 6 of 12 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds and Jake Matthews dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Graham has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaynin Poage, who posted seven points.

Pollok Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Center, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Center has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Pollok Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Center strolled past Pollok Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 53-35. Does Center have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pollok Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
