Putnam is 7-0 against Grasso Tech since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Putnam Clippers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grasso Tech Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Putnam is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Putnam lost to Tourtellotte on the road by a decisive 70-53 margin.
Meanwhile, Grasso Tech struggled with assists on Friday (Cheney RVT had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Grasso Tech was outmatched by Cheney RVT at home and fell 82-46. Grasso Tech has struggled against Cheney RVT recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Nick Stavesky put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Charis Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Putnam dropped their record down to 5-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Grasso Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Putnam beat Grasso Tech 67-60 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Putnam repeat their success, or does Grasso Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
