On Tuesday, Riverwood was the victim of a tough 49-26 loss at the hands of Westlake. While losing is never fun, Riverwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Westlake is ranked 20th).
Despite the loss, Riverwood still got an impressive performance from Lizzie McGrath, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. McGrath scored a full 57.7% of Riverwood's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of May Weis, who scored 5 points along with 11 rebounds.
Riverwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Westlake, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverwood will take on Dunwoody at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunwoody is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Westlake, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Southwest DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. Southwest DeKalb is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
