The Aquinas Academy Crusaders lost against the Providence Christian Academy Griffins back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Aquinas Academy lost to Providence Christian Academy at home by a decisive 51-33 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Aquinas Academy has scored all season.
Providence Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Unruh, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. Unruh is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Burrows, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Aquinas Academy's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Providence Christian Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tri-State Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Avon Grove Charter at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Avon Grove Charter is ranked 235th in Pennsylvania, while Providence Christian Academy is ranked 222nd in Maryland).
