Their game last week wasn't at all kind to Freeman, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They had enough points to win and then some against Sandy Creek on Friday, taking their match 34-14.
Sandy Creek got a solid performance out of junior Connor Crumbliss, who picked up 87 yards on the ground and accumulated 128 passing yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 9 tackles Crumbliss was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse freshman Josh Shaw, who racked up 10 tackles.
The win bumped Freeman's record up to 3-1. Sandy Creek are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Freeman will look to defend their home turf next week against Wilber-Clatonia at 7:00 PM. Sandy Creek will stay at home against St. Cecilia at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
