It's playoff time, and Key West had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the American Patriots with a sharp  12-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Conchs have won 11 contests by more than five  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Brianna Brenner tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Alexa Condella was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with five  RBI and one  triple. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Tavyn Gage was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with two  runs and two  RBI.
Key West is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for American, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
As of now, neither Key West nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
