Envision Academy lost against the Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Envision Academy fell to Leadership Public Schools Richmond 37-33. Envision Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Envision Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chuka Achinulo, who scored nine points along with 19 rebounds and five blocks. Achinulo is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ghaith Omar was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leadership Public Schools Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sadat Muhammad, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Landon Grisby, who scored ten points.
Envision Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Leadership Public Schools Richmond, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Envision Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Saint Mary's on January 20th. Saint Mary's has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Leadership Public Schools Richmond, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakland Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
