Greene Central is 0-10 against North Pitt since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Greene Central Rams will head out on the road to challenge the North Pitt Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Greene Central has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
Greene Central suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Farmville Central by a score of 41-38.
Despite the loss, Greene Central saw an underclassman step up: An'nysha Wooten dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Wooten has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Janiyah Sutton was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, North Pitt waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat J.H. Rose 61-33 at home. North Pitt has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.
Greene Central's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for North Pitt, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Greene Central was dealt a bruising 66-29 defeat at the hands of North Pitt when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Greene Central was down 42-8.
