Musselman is 10-0 against GVCS Broadfording since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Musselman Applemen will square off against the GVCS Broadfording Lions at 7:30 p.m. Musselman will be strutting in after a victory while GVCS Broadfording will be coming in after a defeat.
Musselman's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They strolled past Washington with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. The win was just what Musselman needed coming off of a 98-27 defeat in their prior match.
GVCS Broadfording suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Shalom Christian Academy, falling 65-38. GVCS Broadfording has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, GVCS Broadfording saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jordan Shifler, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Brandon Monroe was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Musselman's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for GVCS Broadfording, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
Everything came up roses for Musselman against GVCS Broadfording when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 76-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Musselman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
