The West Chargers came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Lansing with points to spare, taking the game 68-51. Given West's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Lions are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jalen Foy, who scored 31 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keimani Paul, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
West is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Lansing, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Piper the next time they take the court. West will head out to face the Pirates at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will head out to face them on Friday.
