It was a good run, but Leadership unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of KIPP King. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leadership in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost eight in a row.
KIPP King found their leader in underclassman Ja'mauri Woodfolk, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Woodfolk is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Ledezma, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Leadership's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4. As for KIPP King, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leadership will take on the at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for KIPP King, they will head out on the road to square off against the Trojan-Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison Park Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
