On Thursday, the Longmeadow Lancers faced the Central Golden Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Longmeadow wound up with the same score they had in their last game (68-31), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points they have scored all season.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alaysia Mondon, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mondon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Angalece Quinones, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Longmeadow's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Central, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Longmeadow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Springfield International at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
