Archie hadn't done well against Liberal recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Tuesday. The Whirlwinds walked away with  a   7-4  win over the Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Whirlwinds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Cotton Killian spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Kale Snook and  Talan Reynolds did most of the damage at the plate:  Snook  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI, while  Reynolds  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Reynolds has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Baylor Duckworth, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Archie has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record  this season. As for Liberal, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Coming up, Archie will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Drexel  at 4:30  p.m. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12  runs per game on average), something the Whirlwinds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberal, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  loss against Appleton City on the 23rd.
