Basketball Recap: Phelps Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Phelps took on Perkiomen School on Wednesday. The Phelps Lions took a hard 93-78 fall against the Perkiomen School Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).

When it comes to explaining why Phelps lost, don't look at Onyx Nnani. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten boards. The matchup was Nnani's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Houser, who posted 11 points.

Phelps has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Perkiomen School, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing George School the next time they take the court. Phelps will head out to face George School at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th, while Perkiomen School will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
