The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lima Christian came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Jasper-Troupsburg is ranked 246th).
Despite the loss, Lima Christian still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Marsh, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The game was Marsh's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Herring, who scored 13 points.
Lima Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Jasper-Troupsburg, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lima Christian will face off against Young Women's College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jahzell Strong and Marsh. As for Jasper-Troupsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Canisteo-Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
