Despite their defeat, Hancock saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Anderson, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most rebounds Anderson has posted since back in December of 2023. Ethan Hill was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hancock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hundred). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Beallsville 70-37. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Hancock better focus on containing Colt Sandy and Brayden Bartrug as the pair were huge in Hundred's win. Sandy dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 boards, while Bartrug almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Sandy is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Huggins, who put up eight points and five rebounds.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Hancock, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hancock has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hundred struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.7 boards.
