The Show Low Cougars lost to the Thatcher Eagles back in January, but the Show Low Cougars didn't allow the Thatcher Eagles the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Show Low strolled past Thatcher with points to spare, taking the game 59-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Show Low.
Show Low's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Wallentine, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Preston Power, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Thatcher still got an impressive performance from Christian Carter, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Carter scored a full 38.1% of Thatcher's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Johnson, who scored seven points.
Show Low's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Thatcher, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Show Low will square off against St. Johns at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Johns will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 254th, while Show Low is ranked 76th). As for Thatcher, they will head out on the road to face off against Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sabino comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
