Despite the loss, Rock Hill had strong showings from Sam Tancinco, who had nine assists and six digs, and Emma Alexander, who had 17 digs and one assist. Alexander has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Peyton Parrott also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Meanwhile, Allen faced Plano East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.
Allen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 16-25, 26-24, 25-14, 25-23.
Rock Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Allen, their victory bumped their record up to 28-5.
