The Peekskill Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 47-20 victory over Riverside on the road. The victory was just what Peekskill needed coming off of a 56-28 loss in their prior contest.
Peekskill found their leader in underclassman Amari Murphy, who scored 19 points along with three steals. The match was Murphy's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Azarriyah Ashley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Peekskill's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Riverside, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peekskill will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sleepy Hollow/Irvington at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. After both having extra time off, Riverside and The Leffell School will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:45 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
