Rainier lost against Kalama on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Monday. The Rainier Mountaineers took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kalama Chinooks. Rainier has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Gardner Dayton and  Larman Kaymen stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Dayton  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Kaymen  went 3-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Rainier  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 12  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kalama only tossed three.
 On Kalama's side, they got a big performance out of  Drew Schlangen, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, a  stolen base,  and a  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Connor Darnell, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Kalama, their victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 4-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rainier will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Onalaska at 4:00  p.m.  on April 8th. As for Kalama, they will head out on the road to  take on  Adna at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Kalama is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.2  runs per game this season.
