Cozad extended the longest winning streak in C1 District 9 this week by beating Ashland-Greenwood, 47-21. The win marks 13th in a row for the the Haymakers.
Cozad took down the Bluejays 47-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Paulsen ran for 199 yards and caught 1 pass for 20 yards in the win.
Brian Cargill's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nate Bubak threw for 83 and 1 touchdown and Conor Young had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Paulsen contributed 199 yards. Paulsen helped Cozad's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
The Haymakers' dynamic duo of Bubak and Young proved to be unstoppable against Ashland-Greenwood, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Paulsen provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cozad defeated Ryan Thompson's team. Paulsen's key target this week was Young, who caught 3 passes for 63 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Kearney Catholic's John Masker and Blake Holtmeier have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Masker has thrown for 912 yards this season, while Holtmeier has 28 catches for 543 yards. The Haymakers' Paulsen leads the league in rushing yards with 2,534.
