After soaring to 62 points the game before, the N.C. School for the Deaf Bears were a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 68-18 loss at the hands of Nebo Crossing Academy. N.C. School for the Deaf lost against Nebo Crossing Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-42 score last time.
Nebo Crossing Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Baker, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Baker is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner McKinney, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
N.C. School for the Deaf has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Nebo Crossing Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-3.
N.C. School for the Deaf will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf at 4:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Nebo Crossing Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Master's Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
