Basketball Recap: Bransen Pittman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy

There's no place like home for NCSSM: Morganton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They secured a 73-69 W over the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons on Monday. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 77-38 loss the last time these two teams met.

NCSSM: Morganton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bransen Pittman, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 17 points along with seven boards and three steals. Pittman's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Gutschall, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

NCSSM: Morganton now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. NCSSM: Morganton will take on Cherryville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Pinnacle Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
