Bradshaw Christian fell victim to El Dorado and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bradshaw Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Wainscott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Avery Slater was another, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Wolverines. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by nine runs or more this season.
Liberty Ranch also got a great performance from Laura Quinn as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Quinn has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bella Granata was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Xiana Juarez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Liberty Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Liberty Ranch's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bradshaw Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1.
