The Rutherford Rams stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bay 74-12 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Rutherford sure is getting used to it with their 16th in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rutherford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braniya Baker, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shakirah Edwards, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bay struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Rutherford's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Rutherford won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arnold at 1:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Arnold will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Rutherford is ranked 18th). As for Bay, they will head out on the road to challenge Rutherford at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
