The Gallatin Green Wave fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 17-7 win over Springfield on Friday. This was payback for Gallatin, who suffered a 31-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Gallatin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Stroup led the charge by throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Gallatin also got help from Ladanian Mcmurry who showed off his sure hands for 118 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Springfield still got an impressive performance from Parker Betts, who gained 132 total yards and a touchdown.
Gallatin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gallatin will take on Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Lebanon is ranked 81st, while Gallatin is ranked 64th). As for Springfield, they will be playing at home against Beech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Beech's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
