The Queen's Grant Stallions will head out on the road to face off against the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen's Grant comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
On Friday, Queen's Grant might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Grace Academy an easy 47-24 win. Queen's Grant was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Triniti Hartis, who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Journee Little, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Valor Preparatory Academy, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were beaten by Jackson Day 55-17 on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valor Preparatory Academy in their matchups with Jackson Day: they've now lost three in a row.
Queen's Grant bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-7.
Everything came up roses for Queen's Grant against Valor Preparatory Academy when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 58-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Queen's Grant since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
