The Motivation Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-54 bruising from TECH Freire Charter. While losing is never fun, Motivation can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while TECH Freire Charter is ranked 203rd).
Despite the loss, Motivation saw an underclassman step up: Chace White scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Amare Gadson, who scored ten points.
Motivation's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for TECH Freire Charter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Motivation will take on Philadelphia Military Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. TECH Freire Charter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Franklin Learning Center at 3:15 p.m. on January 12th. Franklin Learning Center is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
