Pendleton Heights is a perfect 3-0 against Madison-Grant since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Arabians will head out to square off against the Argylls at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Pendleton Heights took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Liberty Christian get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Arabians considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Cassie Hayes made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hayes was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Grace Fisher was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Pendleton Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Madison-Grant got the win against Elwood on Thursday by a conclusive 20-7. The Argylls haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
McKenna Craig looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Cayleigh Stitt was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnna Hiatt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory got Pendleton Heights back to even at 4-4. As for Madison-Grant, their record is now 4-2.
Pendleton Heights took their win against Madison-Grant in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Arabians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
