Heartland has struggled against Midway recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Heartland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Diego Martinez. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Jackson Odom was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Heartland's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Midway, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
