After taking the lead on a field goal by
Luis Garcia in the first quarter,
Alvin (Texas) was up 19-0 at the half.
The Yellowjackets grew their lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. Alvin scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by
Eric Olszewski to
Russell Duplechin.
Garcia was the top performer for AHS. He kicked one field goal and five extra points.
Pasadena's only touchdown came on a 53-yard pass from Daniel Delgado to Melvin Reyes in the fourth quarter.
The Yellowjackets has struggled this season, allowing 32.0 points per game. But Alvin tightened up and held Pasadena (Texas) below its season average of 10.6 points per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for AHS, which was coming off a 40-26 defeat at the hands of South Houston in its previous game.
Pasadena (2-7) goes up against Sam Rayburn in a 5A Region III District 22 game matchup next week, while Alvin (2-7) locks horns with Pasadena Memorial also in a 5A Region III District 22 game.
