Trinity Christian is 0-6 against Madonna since March of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Warriors will welcome the Blue Dons at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Monday, Trinity Christian got the win against Tygarts Valley by a conclusive 17-4. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Trinity Christian let Peyton Moore and Josalyn Phillips run wild. Moore scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Phillips scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Phillips also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jillian Conn, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Trinity Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Madonna waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. Everything went their way against the Red Devils as they made off with a 12-3 win.
Kendall Ryan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Ryan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Owens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Geena Birkhimer was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
Madonna pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Trinity Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Madonna struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Trinity Christian might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Madonna when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road?
